Detroit Tigers outfielder Justin Upton was scratched from Monday's lineup against the Philadelphia Phillies due to right quad tightness.
Steven Moya will start in his place in left field and bat sixth against righty Vince Velasquez. Upton is already off to a miserable start at the plate (.223 with a .589 OPS and 66 strikeouts in 44 games), so an injury isn't going to help matters.
Our models currently project Upton to hit .237/.317/.413 with 15 long balls and 50 RBI's, while also stealing 10 bases over the remainder of the season. We expect him to post a .315 wOBA in 431 plate appearances.
