The Baltimore Orioles optioned outfielder Kyle Stowers to Triple-A Norfolk ahead of Monday's game against the Los Angeles Angels.
Stowers was struggling in his opportunities so far this season, and the Orioles needed to call up a pitcher after likely losing Tyler Wells (shoulder) for the season. Terrin Vavra was listed as his replacement in right field for Monday's contest.
Stowers was 2 for 33 at the plate so far this season, batting .067 with a .218 OPS.
