The San Francisco Giants have placed infielder Thairo Estrada (hand fracture) on the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's game against the San Francisco Giants.
Estrada was struck by a pitch on the hand on Sunday and subsequent testing revealed that the talented infielder suffered a fractured bone in the incident. He'll recover on the 10-day injured list while Brett Wisely takes over the second base position and hits eighth for San Francisco.
Estrada is having another strong season, batting .272 with 9 homers, 46 runs, 31 RBI, 18 stolen bases, and a .761 OPS through his 315 plate appearances.
