The Miami Marlins have acquired pitcher Jorge Lopez in a deal with the Minnesota Twins.
After producing career-best metrics as the Twins' closer last season, Lopez will move to the National League while Dylan Floro heads to Minnesota. Expect the veteran to hold down a potential middle relief role for a strong bullpen ranked third with a 3.91 expected Fielding Independent Pitching rating.
In 35.1 innings this season, Lopez has accounted for a 4.83 expected Fielding Independent Pitching rating, a 17.4% strikeout percentage, and a 9.2% swinging strike rate.
