The Cleveland Guardians will release infielder Jean Segura after acquiring him from the Miami Marlins on Tuesday.
The Guardians acquired Segura and Kahlil Watson in exchange for Josh Bell, but they apparently have no use for the veteran infielder during a career-worst campaign. Segura is batting .219 with a .556 OPS this season, compared to previous personal-lows of .219 and .556.
Segura averaged 6.1 FanDuel points in 85 games for the Marlins this season while slashing .219/.277/.279 with 3 homers, 10 extra-base hits, 21 RBI, and 25 runs scored across 326 plate appearances.
