Chicago Cubs infielder Nick Madrigal is not in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale against left-hander David Peterson and the New York Mets.
Madrigal will take a maintenance day after he went 1-for-12 with a strikeout, in addition to committing an error, over the last three games. Patrick Wisdom will play first base and bat eighth Wednesday while Jeimer Candelario will start on third and hit seventh.
