Kansas City Royals utility player Matt Beaty is not in the lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander George Kirby and the Seattle Mariners.
Beaty started and went 3-for-6 with a run scored in the first three games of the series. Matt Duffy will replace Beaty on first base in Thursday's matinee and bat eighth.
