Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Buddy Kennedy is not starting in Friday's game against the Cincinnati Reds.
Kennedy will sit on the bench after Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was picked as Arizona's designated hitter, Tommy Pham was moved to left field, Corbin Carroll was shifted to right, and Alek Thomas was positioned in center.
Per Baseball Savant on 15 batted balls this season, Kennedy has recorded a 26.7% hard hit rate and a .234 expected average.
