Texas Rangers outfielder J.P. Martinez is not starting in Tuesday's contest against the New York Mets.
Martinez will sit in New York after Robbie Grossman was positioned in left field and Mitch Garver was chosen as Tuesday's designated hitter versus left-hander Jose Quintana.
Per Baseball Savant on 24 batted balls this season, Martinez has recorded a 4.2% barrel rate and a .193 expected average.
