Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Spencer Horwitz will start on first base and bat cleanup on Tuesday against right-hander Max Scherzer and the Texas Rangers.
The Blue Jays placed Brandon Belt (back) on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, so Horwitz could potentially stick in the lineup while Belt is on the shelf. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will start at designated hitter and bat third against Scherzer.
numberFire’s models project Horwitz ($2,600) for 5.6 FanDuel points on Tuesday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Blue Jays' implied total is 4.18 and the game total is 8.5. Scherzer was lit up for 7 runs in just three innings against the Houston Astros in his last outing, but he has a 3.63 xFIP and 32.3% strikeout rate in seven outings since joining the Rangers.
