Tampa Bay Rays infielder Curtis Mead will start on third base and bat fifth in Wednesday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Dallas Keuchel and the Minnesota Twins.
Mead went 0-for-1 as a reserve on Tuesday after he was recalled from Triple-A Durham earlier in the day to replace Jose Siri (hand) on the active roster. Isaac Paredes will shift to designated hitter and cleanup duty on Wednesday afternoon.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Rays' implied total is 4.43 and the game total is 8.5. Keuchel has a 4.78 ERA and uglier 5.65 xERA across 26 1/3 innings this season. His 12.5% strikeout rate is lowest on the Wednesday slate among projected starters.
