Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is not in the lineup on Wednesday against left-hander Joey Lucchesi and the New York Mets.
The left-handed hitting Carroll will sit against a southpaw after going 0-for-10 with 2 strikeouts in the first two games of the series. Tommy Pham will shift to right field while Evan Longoria starts at designated hitter and bats sixth. Ketel Marte will replace Carroll as Arizona's leadoff hitter on Wednesday.
numberFire’s models project Longo ($2,300) for 9.7 FanDuel points on Wednesday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Diamondbacks' implied total is 4.28 and the game total is 8.0. Lucchesi has been pretty awful across 28 innings this season, evidenced by a 5.99 xERA, 19.0% strikeout rate, and 10.7% barrel rate. Based on those numbers, the lefty's 3.54 ERA is quite misleading.
