Colorado Rockies infielder Ezequiel Tovar will start at shortstop and bat leadoff on Tuesday against left-hander Blake Snell and the San Diego Padres.
Tovar is moving up a spot while the left-handed hitting Charlie Blackmon relinquishes leadoff duty against a southpaw. Brendan Rodgers is hitting second for the Rockies. Tovar has a .253 batting average and .737 OPS against lefties this season.
