Minnesota Twins catcher Christian Vazquez is not in the lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Luis Medina and the Oakland Athletics.
Vazquez started the first two games of the series and went 3-for-8 with a double, 3 RBI, and 2 strikeouts. Ryan Jeffers will catch for Sonny Gray on Thursday afternoon and Edouard Julien will serve as the designated hitter. Donovan Solano will start on second base while Alex Kirilloff will man first base and bat cleanup for the Twins.
numberFire’s models project Jeffers ($2,900) for 10.8 FanDuel points on Thursday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Twins have the best implied total (5.16) among teams not playing at Coors Field today. Medina has a poor 5.64 ERA and 4.81 xERA in his first MLB season, with a weak 21.7% strikeout rate and high 11.5% walk rate.
