Caratini is being replaced behind the plate by William Contreras versus Cubs starter Drew Smyly. Andruw Monasterio and Blake Perkins are also exiting the lineup.
In 225 plate appearances this season, Caratini has a .255 batting average with a .699 OPS, 7 home runs, 23 runs, 25 RBI and 1 stolen base.
