Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran is expected to bat leadoff this season, according to Alex Cora.
Asked about Duran this week, Cora said "For me, when Jarren was the leadoff guy for us [last year], we were probably one of the best offenses in the big leagues, obviously, we need him healthy out there every day. If he’s healthy, that’s my guy.” Heading into Spring Training, Duran appears to have the leadoff spot locked down.
In 362 plate appearances for Boston last season, Duran hit 8 homers, 46 runs, 40 RBI with a 0.295 average and 0.828 OPS. All those numbers were career highs.
