San Diego Padres infielder Xander Bogaerts is expected to open the season at second base.
Bogaerts will move to second base this season, with Ha-Seong Kim playing shortstop, according to Mike Shildt. Shildt added that the switch is not "etched in stone" but for now Bogaerts will be at second.
In 665 plate appearances last season, Bogaerts hit 0.285 with 19 homers, 83 runs, 58 RBI, and a 0.790 OPS.
