St. Louis Cardinals infielder Tommy Edman (wrist) will start the season on the injured list, manager Oli Marmol confirmed on Thursday.
Edman has been shut down again because of lingering pain in his surgically repaired right wrist. It remains to be seen when Edman will be able to make his season debut. Dylan Carlson and Victor Scott are expected to handle center field for the Cardinals while Edman is on the shelf.
Prior to the decision, numberFire's models projected Edman to record a .257 batting average and .724 OPS this season, with 14 homers, 56 RBI, 27 steals, and 74 runs scored.
