New York Yankees infielder/outfielder Oswaldo Cabrera is starting on third base and batting ninth against left-hander Framber Valdez and the Houston Astros on Opening Day.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone is going with Cabrera on the hot corner over Jon Berti, who was acquired by the Yankees on Wednesday. DJ LeMahieu (foot) and Oswald Peraza (shoulder) are both sidelined to start the season.
