The Colorado Rockies listed shortstop Ezequiel Tovar as their seventh batter for Thursday's Opening Day game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Rockies signed Tovar to a massive 7-year, $63.6 million contract just before the season began, but don't seem to be ready to move him up in the batting order just yet. The 22 year old shortstop logged a nice .897 OPS with 2 homers in 51 Spring Training plate appearances and could develop into a strong fantasy option in his second full season.
Tovar is projected for 7.8 FanDuel points against Diamondbacks ace Zac Gallen tonight, but will be a player to monitor in fantasy this season -- especially at Coors Field, where he logged a .753 OPS as a rookie.
