Washington Nationals first baseman Joey Gallo is not in the lineup for Monday afternoon's series opener against left-hander Marcon Gonzales and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The left-handed hitting Gallo will take a seat versus a southpaw. He went 0-for-12 with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks in his first three games in a Nationals uniform. Joey Meneses will cover first base and bat third on Monday afternoon. Keibert Ruiz will shift to designated hitter and cleanup duty. Riley Adams will catch for MacKenzie Gore and bat eighth. Jesse Winker will drop two spots and hit fifth.
Adams is currently numberFire’s second-best point-per-dollar value among catchers on Monday. He has a $2,500 salary on the All Day slate and our models project him for 9.9 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Nationals' implied total (4.33) is No. 8 in the majors today.
