Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Jake McCarthy is not in the lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Carlos Rodon and the New York Yankees.
The left-handed hitting McCarthy started against a southpaw on Tuesday and went 2-for-4 with a strikeout, but he will sit versus another lefty on Wednesday afternoon. Corbin Carroll, who also swings left-handed, will replace McCarthy in the outfield and hit second after being held out Tuesday. Blaze Alexander will move down four spots and bat sixth. Jorge Barrosa will make another start in the outfield and bat seventh.
numberFire's models project Barrosa for 8.8 FanDuel points on Wednesday afternoon. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Diamondbacks' implied total (4.18) is No. 16 in the majors today.
