Chicago White Sox catcher Martin Maldonado is not in the lineup for Thursday's series opener against right-hander Seth Lugo and the Kansas City Royals.
Maldonado will take a seat for the second time this season. Korey Lee will catch for Michael Soroka and bat ninth.
