The Philadelphia Phillies did not list Whit Merrifield as a starter for Monday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Phillies seem to be content with having Merrifield bat against lefties only at this point, and will take the veteran out of their lineup for Monday's game against righty Miles Mikolas. Brandon Marsh will take over for him in left field and is listed seventh.
Merrifield has logged just 3 hits across 19 plate appearances so far this season, but has already notched his first stolen base of the year.
