The Tampa Bay Rays did not list Brandon Lowe as a starter for Monday's game against the Los Angeles Angels.
Lowe will take a seat Monday as the Rays prepare to face lefty pitcher Tyler Anderson. The platooning Rays could also be playing it safe with Lowe's health after he missed time to open the year with a side issue. Curtis Mead will cover second base.
Lowe is projected to make 435 more plate appearances this season, with 20 home runs, 57 runs, 59 RBI, 6 stolen bases, and a .235 batting average.
