Chicago Cubs catcher Yan Gomes is not in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale against right-hander Dylan Cease and the San Diego Padres.
Gomes will return to the bench after hitting his first dinger of the season on Tuesday. Miguel Amaya will catch for Kyle Hendricks and hit eighth.
