Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Rowdy Tellez is not in the lineup for Thursday's series opener against left-hander Ranger Suarez and the Philadelphia Phillies.
The left-handed hitting Tellez will sit against the Phillies' southpaw. Connor Joe will cover first base and bat leadoff. Jared Triolo will drop down and hit eighth.
