The Miami Marlins will be optioning starting pitcher Max Meyer to Triple-A to make room for Edward Cabrera (shoulder) on the roster, per Christina De Nicola.
Meyer has been the Marlins' most effective starter this season despite his lack of experience, but the team will be playing it safe with his reps in his first season back from Tommy John surgery. The move clears way for Edward Cabrera (shoulder) to rejoin the lineup from the injured list. Meyer should work his way back up into the majors at some point this season as long as he remains healthy.
Cabrera will take the mound later today with A.J. Puk (illness) scratched from the lineup. Cabrera has an $8,400 salary on FanDuel and is projected for 33.6 fantasy points, with 6.5 K and 1.9 ER across 5.2 innings against the San Francisco Giants.
