Boston Red Sox infielder Rafael Devers (knee) is out of the lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Carlos Carrasco and the Cleveland Guardians.
Devers tried playing through his knee issue on Wednesday as the designated hitter, but after he went 0-for-4 with 3 strikeouts, the Red Sox are sending him for an MRI. Pablo Reyes will make another start at third base on Thursday. Connor Wong will shift to designated hitter, while Reese McGuire will start at catcher and bat eighth. Triston Casas will hit second and Wilyer Abreu will bat third, with Enmanuel Valdez in the cleanup spot.
numberFire's models project Reyes for 8.5 and Casas for 11.4 FanDuel points on Thursday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Red Sox's implied total (4.54) is No. 2 out of 10 active teams today, while the game total (9.0) is the highest on the board.
