The Arizona Diamondbacks scratched starting pitcher Merrill Kelly from their lineup for Sunday's game against the San Francisco Giants.
Kelly was initially slated to start against the Giants later this afternoon, but has now been scratched by the team for an undisclosed reason. The Diamondbacks have not yet announced another starter, but the team could turn to Slade Cecconi after calling him up earlier in the day.
Kelly has been off to a fiery start this season after helping his team make the World Series a season ago. Across 24.2 innings he has a 2.19 ERA and a .932 WHIP.
