The Colorado Rockies will not have Jacob Stallings in their lineup for Monday's game against the San Diego Padres.
Stallings nearly hit a game-winning home run against the Mariners on Sunday, only for his efforts to go to waste after a fan interfered with the ball. He'll take a seat today while Elias Diaz starts at catcher and bats cleanup.
Stallings' would-be home run would have been his first of the season. He is projected for 180 more plate appearances this season, so he should have plenty more opportunities to hit home runs over the rest of the year.
