Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Edwin Encarnacion blasted a two-run homer in the first inning on Sunday, helping to lead the Blue Jays to a 7-6 victory over the Texas Rangers and a three-game sweep in the ALDS.
Encarnacion wasted no time belting a home run in the first inning to give the Blue Jays a 2-1 lead. The game was a slug-fest from the get go and Encarnacion did his part. The Blue Jays' first baseman is having a fantastic playoffs so far, hitting .375 with three homers and seven RBI's.
After a slow start to the season, Encarnacion once again posted huge numbers with a .263/.357/.529 slash line with a .373 wOBA across 702 plate appearances. He tied a career-high with 42 dingers and he added a career-best 127 RBI's in 2016.
