The Milwaukee Brewers would "love" to hit outfielder Keon Broxton high in the batting order if they can "get (him) going," manager Craig Counsell said on Tuesday.
Broxton may have an opportunity to hit second behind Jonathan Villar, who is pretty much locked into the Brewers' leadoff spot. He had a strong second half in 2016, slashing .294/.399/.538 with eight home runs and 16 stolen bases across 169 plate appearances.
The 26-year-old Broxton slashed .242/.354/.430 with a .343 wOBA in 244 plate appearances last season. He stole 23 bases in 27 attempts during his first full year in the majors.
