Kansas City Royals outfielder Jorge Soler (oblique) could head out on a minor-league rehab assignment as soon as this weekend.
Soler pulled an oblique muscle late in spring training and suffered a minor setback in his recovery last week. However, the news of a rehab assignment being imminent means the former Chicago Cub could make his Royals debut before the end of the month. Paulo Orlando will continue to play right field until Soler is ready.
numberFire's algorithms project Soler for a .259 batting average with 15 home runs, 49 RBI's and 47 runs scored in 401 plate appearances over the rest of the season.
