New York Mets starting pitcher Matt Harvey gave up six runs and walked five in 4 1/3 innings Thursday in his start against the Atlanta Braves.
Harvey looked strong in the first, but he lost command and velocity in the second. Maybe he was off because Noah Syndergaard was scratched and Harvey moved up in the rotation, but it was a really discouraging outing from a guy who had been throwing well.
Harvey is now up to a 4.06 SIERA this year, and while he has a lackluster 17.5 percent strikeout rate, his 5.2 percent walk rate is an improvement from last year.
