In a game the San Antonio Spurs won by 17 points, you would've guessed that LaMarcus Aldridge or Kawhi Leonard had a big night. If not, you'd probably move next to Pau Gasol or maybe even Tony Parker. Wrong again!
In the Spurs' runaway home win against the Charlotte Hornets Saturday night, NBA rookie Davis Bertans was the guy. He led the team with 21 points in only 18 minutes courtesy of a near-perfect shooting night. After all was said and done, Bertans had connected on five of six from the field, four of five from three, and seven of eight from the free throw line.
That fire emoji of a shooting night amounted to a true shooting percentage of 110.3%, an offensive rating of 211.1 points per 100 possessions, and a nERD of 52.86. It was a performance worthy of the Red Mamba's (Matt Bonner) approval.
Great game last night @DBertans_42 I couldn't retire until another redhead made the NBA to carry the "torch"! https://t.co/laOGj9kQJe
