Why He Will Go Overlooked:
For an ugly four-game slate, the power forward position is actually fairly deep tonight.
At the top end, Blake Griffin is likely to be a popular option coming off of a 49-FanDuel-point performance, while both LaMarcus Aldridge and Draymond Green are also in good spots. Markieff Morris has played exceptionally recently and should be popular against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Mid-range options such as Ryan Anderson and Dario Saric are also likely to soak up some ownership. In the end, don't expect Paul Millsap to be on a lot of rosters, especially after scoring under 30 FanDuel points in three of his past four games.
Why You Should Use Him:
Millsap hasn't played well recently, but he should rebound in tonight's matchup against the Houston Rockets. For starters, the Atlanta Hawks have an implied team total of 107.50 points, which is over three points above their season scoring average. This game also has the second-highest over/under on the slate, so there should be plenty of fantasy goodness to go around.
Houston also hasn't defended opposing power forwards well, allowing the sixth-most FanDuel points per game to the position. Millsap has dominated this matchup in recent meetings, putting up 50.2 FanDuel points against the Rockets earlier this season and averaging 47.6 in his last four meetings with them.
He should have no problem taking advantage of Houston's weak interior defense that has allowed the most points in the post. It has been Millsap, not Dwight Howard, who has been Atlanta's most effective post scorer, with more points and touches, as well as a 1.07 points per possession, compared to Howard's inefficient 0.77.
Millsap only played 24 minutes on Wednesday after playing 60 in a quadruple-overtime game on Sunday, and it's reasonable to wonder whether or not he'll be limited again on the second part of a back-to-back. He's not someone to target in cash games, but he has big-time upside for tournaments -- as evidenced by his past performances against Houston.
