The 10 Worst NBA Teams of This Century
Dating back to 2000, which teams do our numbers say are the worst in recent history?

2. Chicago Bulls, 2000-01

nERD: 16.6

If you were to put money on which franchise you would least expect to make this list, one of them could have been the Chicago Bulls. It's hard to look past the greatness of Michael Jordan and the Bulls of the 1990's. But not far removed from the heyday of Chicago basketball, the Bulls won just 15 games and placed dead last in the league.

Led by head coach Tim Floyd, the Bulls were 27th in defensive rating and 29th in offensive rating. Their offensive rating of 97.2 was 5.2 below the league-average, and their defensive rating of 107.3 was 4.3 points worse than the league average. They were also last in points per game, yielding just 87.6 points per night.

After sporting players like Jordan, Scottie Pippen and others, the Bulls' best player was a second-year Elton Brand, who totaled 6.1 win shares in 74 games. Fred Hoiberg and Brad Miller were the next-best players on a team that boasted just two players who scored more than 12 points per game.
