3 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays for 3/14/17
A deep point guard player pool should keep Reggie Jackson's ownership down despite a terrific matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Jeff Teague, PG, Indiana Pacers

FanDuel Price: $6,800

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

For a five-game slate, point guard is absolutely loaded tonight. The likes of Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, and Jrue Holiday are all in great spots, as is Jeremy Lin, who has played better lately and may be a trendy punt play.

Amid all those options is Jeff Teague, who has three straight games of sub-30 FanDuel points and is in the worst on-paper matchup.

Why You Should Use Him:

While Teague has been quiet recently, we all know he has the upside to go off at any given moment. In fact, according to our Floor/Ceiling tool, Teague's 43.3-FanDuel-point ceiling is the best point-per-dollar ceiling among point guards and the second-best among all players with a price tag above $6,000.

Teague may reach that ceiling against the New York Knicks. New York's season numbers against point guards aren't bad, but Derrick Rose is certainly not a quality defender. Rose ranks 81st among 89 qualified point guards in defensive real plus-minus (DRPM) and has been known as a defensive liability for years.

As would be expected, Teague's performance against New York this season has been a mixed bag, with performances of 19.3, 34.8, and 46.4 FanDuel points. That type of inconsistency isn't what you're looking for in cash games, but the volatility makes him an intriguing tournament play. His inconsistency will keep his ownership down, but he has the ability to crush value, which is exactly what we want in tournaments.
