FanDuel Price: $7,900
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Point guard is surprisingly deep for tonight's six-game slate, with 7 of the 12 teams ranked in the bottom half of the league in terms of FanDuel points allowed to the position. Ricky Rubio's opponent, the Portland Trail Blazers, are not one of those teams -- actually allow the second-fewest FanDuel points to opposing point guards. As such, it would be surprising to see Rubio carry heavy ownership tonight.
Why You Should Use Him:
Rubio has really stepped up his game in the second half of the season, and he comes into this one with a 40.4 FanDuel point average over his last five games. In 17 games since the beginning of March, he has averaged 38.9 FanDuel points and has displayed immense upside, with seven games of 40-plus, three of which went for over 50.
He'll carry that momentum into tonight's matchup against Portland, who he has found success against this season. While their numbers against point guards this season have been impressive, the individual defense of Damian Lillard has not been. Lillard ranks 64th among qualified point guards in defensive real plus-minus this season with a rating of -1.47. Rubio has averaged 33.9 FanDuel points in eight games against him over the past three seasons, most recently dropping 40.4 on him three days ago.
Given the way Rubio has played recently, along with the advantageous individual matchup against Lillard, he profiles as a viable play in all formats. The potential for low ownership is just an added bonus.
