This marked the last of Bird's NBA campaigns. In it, he played 45 games while averaging 20.2 points, 9.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists in a remarkable 36.9 minutes. His Celtics made the playoffs yet again.

During the course of the regular season, Bird averaged .159 win shares per 48 minutes for a total of 5.5 win shares. He earned an All-Star bid, so all in all, it wasn't a bad year for a 35-year-old.
