Win Shares: 4.59
For a long time, it looked like the defending-champion Detroit Pistons were going to win the '05 Finals, but the San Antonio Spurs outplayed them. That wasn't because Chauncey Billups didn't try to carry his Pistons past them, though.
The previous year's Finals MVP did all he could, contributing 18.7 points and 6.5 assists on a nightly basis. In 25 games, Billups accounted for .224 win shares per 48 minutes, but the Pistons still folded in their pursuit of a repeat.
