5 NBA Stats to Know From the Last Week
D'Angelo Russell's Brooklyn Nets are averaging a league-high 124.3 points per game. The Oklahoma City Thunder aren't. What other numbers stood out from the first week of the NBA season?

Dennis Schroder Leads All Point Guards in Usage

Speaking of ball hogs, let's give a big ol' oink to Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder.

On a Hawks team lacking in, well, everything, the German speedster has taken ball domination to a new level, out-hogging some of the biggest names in the Association (minimum: 30 minutes per game).

Player Usage Rate
Dennis Schroder 35.6%
John Wall 33.5%
Stephen Curry 31.5%
Russell Westbrook 31.4%
Damian Lillard 32.3%
Kyrie Irving 28.0%

Fortunately, Schroder has done something with all of that usage, racking up nightly averages of 23.3 points, 6.7 assists, and 3.0 rebounds, to go with a reasonable PER of 21.74. For the sake of comparison, Jeff Teague -- Atlanta's 2016-17 starting point guard -- is putting up 13.3 points, 6.3 dimes, 3.3 boards, and an 18.46 PER in his new Minnesota digs.

Sure, the Hawks are 1-3, but at least Schroder is proving fun to watch.
