Speaking of ball hogs, let's give a big ol' oink to Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder.
On a Hawks team lacking in, well, everything, the German speedster has taken ball domination to a new level, out-hogging some of the biggest names in the Association (minimum: 30 minutes per game).
Player | Usage Rate |
---|---|
Dennis Schroder | 35.6% |
John Wall | 33.5% |
Stephen Curry | 31.5% |
Russell Westbrook | 31.4% |
Damian Lillard | 32.3% |
Kyrie Irving | 28.0% |
Fortunately, Schroder has done something with all of that usage, racking up nightly averages of 23.3 points, 6.7 assists, and 3.0 rebounds, to go with a reasonable PER of 21.74. For the sake of comparison, Jeff Teague -- Atlanta's 2016-17 starting point guard -- is putting up 13.3 points, 6.3 dimes, 3.3 boards, and an 18.46 PER in his new Minnesota digs.
Sure, the Hawks are 1-3, but at least Schroder is proving fun to watch.
