He may not be the rookie garnering the most attention in Los Angeles, but any and all excitement surrounding Kyle Kuzma is well warranted. The 22-year-old has come quite a way from just a few months ago when he was a late first-round draft pick of the Brooklyn Nets, to now serving as a key piece of the Lakers starting five.
Through 12 games this season, Kuzma is averaging 15 points and 6 boards but has only posted at least five-times value in six games, with just two outings of at least 30 FanDuel points.
While he's set to receive more minutes -- and is thus assumed to produce more fantasy points -- we’ll have to keep a close eye on his salary in order to gauge reliability and nightly potential.
For right now, at less than 25 fantasy points a game, Kuzma’s new season-high salary of $6,300 will have to cool down. Either that, or we’ll have to wait, see, and then trust he can deliver somewhere in the neighborhood of 30-35 points a night.
Keep him on your radar, but tread carefully.
