After missing the first 12 games of the year, Nicolas Batum made his season debut for the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night, and he didn’t disappoint, scoring 33 FanDuel points in 32 minutes of action.
The playing time alone is an awesome sign moving forward, as it implies all is well and back to normal aside from the typical rust following a long injury. The Hornets are in need of the Frenchman's versatility and he appears healthy and ready to go.
In addition to that -- and more importantly -- we’ll need to act fast and take advantage of Batum’s salary right now. It’s unlikely he stays below the $6,000 mark for long, and we could see a spike as soon as tonight given the green light he received on Wednesday.
If we take into account Batum as the fantasy player averaging about 33 FanDuel points per game over the past two seasons, he’s a nice get for anywhere up to about $6,500.
The Hornets are in Chicago tonight before hosting games against the Clippers tomorrow night, followed by the Timberwolves and Wizards next week.
