3 NBA DraftKings Value Plays to Target on 1/4/18
Terrance Ferguson had a big night Wednesday, and the short-handed Thunder may have to lean on him again tonight.

DraftKings Salary: $3,000

With the Thunder playing without Roberson and Alex Abrines last night, Terrance Ferguson stepped into the starting lineup and played 33 minutes. He finished with 35.75 DraftKings points, which obviously crushes value at minimum salary.

Before we lock him into all lineups, let's take a step back.

Ferguson played seven of his minutes and scored 12 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter of a blowout, with most of the starters watching from the bench. He was looking at around 15 DraftKings points heading into that quarter. On the year, he's averaging just 0.47 DraftKings points per minute. He was shooting 39.4% from the floor entering last night's game, so his 9-of-12 shooting night was probably an outlier. His efficiency from beyond the arc was a clear outlier, as six of his eight made three pointers on the year came in last night's game. Prior to that, he had made 2 of 16 three-point attempts this season.

With that all said, if we get word that Abrines is out and Ferguson is starting again, the rookie is still worth a look at minimum salary. He needs just 15 DraftKings points to hit value, which, even at just 0.47 DraftKings points per minute, would be attainable if he sees the minute-load he saw last night. Just don't expect a repeat of last night's efficiency, because he has been nowhere near that type of producer over the course of the season.
