Projected FanDuel Value: 5.12
Inconsistent playing time is a common thread among most bargain-bin players -- and Marcin Gortat is no exception. Before playing 29.3 minutes in Wednesday's win over the New York Knicks, the big man's minutes in his previous seven games were as follows: 29.7, 18.6, 15.3, 26.6, 20.7, 19.0, 24.8.
As you can see, Gortat isn't logging the 31.2 minutes he averaged a year ago. He's another year older, Ian Mahinmi's pushing for bench minutes and the Washington Wizards are playing a lot of small-ball lineups. But, there have been times where the matchup's forced Scott Brooks to play Gortat more minutes.
Wednesday's 36.6-FanDuel-point performance wasn't out of nowhere. In the 11 games Gortat has played at least 30 minutes, he's averaged a double-double with 33.3 FanDuel points per game. The Wizards draw Marc Gasol and the Memphis Grizzlies, and the presence of a true center, not to mention the Grizzlies' slow-down pace, should be a reason for Gortat to play and produce on Friday.
