The New York Knicks are one of a few teams expected to be tanking in the second portion of the season. Their prized possession, Kristaps Porzingis, is sidelined for the remainder of the year, and they're already 7.5 games back of a playoff spot in the East. They're going to go young.
Yesterday, coach Jeff Hornacek indicated that Jarrett Jack would move to the bench with Emmanuel Mudiay stepping in to start at point guard. The rotation hasn't been solidified and we still don't know how many minutes Mudiay will get, but he should see a solid role since Jack has averaged 26 minutes in his 56 starts this season.
If Mudiay sees 20-plus minutes, he should be able to meet value. In the 17 games he's played at least 20 minutes, Mudiay has averaged 22.9 FanDuel points in 25.8 minutes. And, in the 69 minutes with his new squad, he's been more efficient with 0.93 FanDuel points per minute on a 24.8% usage rate. Couple that with the Orlando Magic's 30th-ranked defense against point guards, and you get one of the best positional matchups of the night.
