DraftKings Salary: $5,400
Bogdan Bogdanovic has been playing quite well recently, winning the Rising Stars Game MVP and averaging 28.9 DraftKings points over his past five games. That is in spite of a 4.5-DraftKings-point performance in which Paul George put the clamps on Bogdanovic last week. Outside of that, he has a 35-DraftKings-point average over the past two weeks, which is clearly more than he needs at this price tag.
While a matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves normally isn't all that inviting for high-scoring shooting guards, Jimmy Butler is out of the picture for the next month or so. Their defense is dramatically worse with Butler off the floor, as their points per possession allowed rises from 1.089 with Butler on to 1.217 with him off, per NBAwowy.com. For reference on just how big of a change that is, at Minnesota's pace of 98.1 possessions per game, they'd allow 106.8 points per game while allowing 1.089 points per possession, as opposed to 119.4 points per game at 1.217 points allowed per possession.
Butler's absence obviously has a direct impact on Bogdanovic because he'll now be defended by the likes of Andrew Wiggins, Nemanja Bjelica, and Jamal Crawford, all of which are huge upgrades from a head-to-head matchup with Butler.
Bogdanovic's inconsistency makes him more of an appealing tournament play than cash-game option, but he is very appealing in that format. He should have no problem scoring on a Butler-less Wolves defense and has the upside to crush value at this price tag.
