Less than 24 hours ago, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist strained his left hamstring and was unable to return against the Chicago Bulls. That's not earth-shattering NBA news, but for daily fantasy, it's quite a big deal. As the Charlotte Hornets turn around to play Wednesday night in Boston, Kidd-Gilchrist is questionable and, as a result, Jeremy Lamb will almost certainly get the start at small forward. But that's not anything new.
Through 60 appearances, Lamb has made 14 starts in place of Kidd-Gilchrist or Nicolas Batum on the wing. Over 30.8 minutes, he's averaged 16.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists in those contests. All total, he's produced 27.5 FanDuel points per game with a 23.5% usage rate and 54.3% true shooting percentage.
The Celtics aren't the easiest matchup for wings. The length of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have the team first and sixth against the shooting guard and small forward spots, respectively. At Lamb's price, though, that shouldn't scare you away. Per NBA Wowy!, Lamb is averaging 0.99 FanDuel points per minute without MKG on the floor this season. All he should need is about 25 minutes, making him a lock-and-load cash-game option tonight.
